Role

Head of Product Management, Retail Division

About Me

I joined ipNX as a Youth Corper in 2005 and I am immensely proud of my career progression here. In this time, I have experienced roles that cut across technology (IP, RF, IPTV, Voice, Wi-Fi and FTTH), Business Development and Marketing. Indeed it can be said that I have enjoyed multiple careers in one, having not stayed in a role for more than an average of 2+ years and serving under tremendously impactful leaders.

I consider myself to be an expert generalist because of my strong foundational skills in Technology, balanced with Business Management and Creative Marketing. This has ultimately prepared me for my current role as the Head of Product Management, Retail Division where I have the opportunity and ultimate responsibility to deliver and manage products that meet and surpass the desires and expectations of our customers and the business.

One thing you're proud of (an achievement, trait, skill):

Adaptability. I am immensely proud of being able to remain relevant and impactful in an industry that has gone through immense technological innovations and disruptions.

Most interesting moment while in ipNX:

This would be the first successful phone call from ipNX to the Nigerian PSTN Network (for External Calls). It was a breakthrough moment for me and the company at the time. Another memorable moment for me was when I received a Certificate of Honour for gallantry and professionalism in the course of duty (in 2006)

Lessons learnt while working here:

I have learned that to be successful, preparation is key; for life doesn’t seem to waste success on the unprepared. This is particularly true in ipNX, where you have to be prepared to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that present themselves to you at any given time.

What quote (s) explain your philosophy for life:

Success is not something you pursue; Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person.

“If you want to have more, you have to become more… For things to improve, you have to improve. For things to get better, you have to get better. For things to change, you have to change. When you change, everything changes for you.”
